It is with great pleasure that I serve as the President of the Greater Kansas City Chapter of IPMA-HR for 2008-09.

I would like to thank each of you who donated your time, efforts and talents to the 2008 Central Region Conference! The theme of the conference was “Recipe for Well-done HR.” Given the current economy, I believe the conference was well attended, and the conference evaluations indicated that many participants were able to take away useful information.

We have an exciting year planned for you, and I hope you will encourage your colleagues to also attend our sessions. The chapter will continue to offer the quarterly Lunch-and-Learn sessions. Due to the positive feedback received on last year’s programs, we once again will offer the free Breakfast Roundtables, as well. The Board also is looking into sponsoring several webinars to provide the membership with additional professional development opportunities. Please watch your emails and the website for additional information on upcoming events.

I hope each of you are having an enjoyable summer and look forward to seeing you at our future gatherings.
